Light Rain Expected in Parts of Morocco
Morocco Braces for Mixed Weather: Heat, Haze, and a Chance of Drizzle
Morocco’s diverse geography often means experiencing a range of weather conditions simultaneously, and this Thursday is no exception. While some regions bask in the summer sun, others may see a hint of rain.
The Directorate General of Meteorology predicts a hazy start and end to the day for Thursday across the northern and forecast-august-8th-2024/” title=”Thursday's Weather Forecast: Partly Cloudy Skies Over the Atlas and Eastern Regions”>central plains. This atmospheric phenomenon, common in various parts of the world during specific seasons, occurs when dust, smoke, and other dry particles accumulate in the air, reducing visibility.
While most of the country enjoys clear to partly cloudy skies, there’s a chance of light, localized showers in the northwestern parts of the southern provinces. This unpredictable weather pattern highlights the region’s unique geographical location influenced by both the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert.
The interior plains of north and central Morocco, along with the southeastern regions and the eastern and southern parts of the Sahara, can expect continued warm temperatures. Meanwhile, dust carried by the wind might affect visibility in the south, southeast, and south-eastern regions.
Strong winds are also on the forecast for Tangier, Loukkos, the eastern region, Saiss, the southeastern slopes, and the central and southern coasts. These winds, while potentially disruptive, play a crucial role in shaping Morocco’s diverse ecosystems.
For those seeking respite from the heat, the mountainous regions offer cooler temperatures, ranging between 9 and 16 degrees Celsius. The rest of the country will experience milder temperatures, between 17 and 23 degrees. However, the northern and central plains will see a rise in temperature as the day progresses.
Sea conditions are expected to be generally calm, with some choppiness in the Strait of Gibraltar and north of Mehdia. South of Mehdia, the sea will be rough, and potentially very rough between Cap Hadid and Tan-Tan and south of Boujdour in the morning.
This varied weather forecast underscores the dynamic nature of Morocco’s climate, offering a little something for everyone, from sunbathers to those who appreciate a cool breeze.
