Qasr Al-Majaz Hosts Thrilling 11th Stop of National Mass Sports Caravan
A Celebration of Sport Unites Communities in Morocco
Qasr Al-Majaz, Morocco – The penultimate stop of the National Caravan for Mass Sport brought a wave of energy and excitement to the Qasr Al-Majaz community last Saturday. Organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All, this nationwide initiative, running from July 15th to August 6th, champions the theme “Mass Sport: A Prerequisite for Building a Healthy Society.”
The event, held in commemoration of the silver jubilee of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne, transformed Qasr Al-Majaz into a vibrant hub of activity. People of all ages and abilities, from young children to seasoned athletes, came together to participate in a diverse range of sports and recreational activities.
The day kicked off with a salute to the national flag, accompanied by the resounding national anthem. A wave of enthusiasm swept through the crowd as the program commenced, featuring dynamic aerobics and yoga demonstrations, spirited boxing matches for both men and women, an exhilarating 2km race, and thrilling beach soccer games. Traditional folk games added a touch of local flavor to the festivities, captivating both participants and spectators alike.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, prominent figures including the President of the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All, the Secretary General of the Fahs-Anjra prefecture, local officials, the President of the Qasr Al-Majaz commune, and the regional delegate for youth affairs, joined the crowds in witnessing the day’s events. Hundreds of beachgoers enjoying the sun and sand at the nearby Qsar Sghir and Qasr Al-Majaz beaches also joined in the festivities.
As the day drew to a close, medals were awarded to the participating associations, recognizing their contributions to this remarkable display of sportsmanship and community spirit. Sisters Lili and Hajar Rkikas, members of the Moroccan women’s national football team (U23 and U20 categories), and Yasmina El Hassani, champion of school sports, were honored by the President of the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All, Ms. Nezha Bidouane.
The event concluded with tokens of appreciation presented to local authorities, community leaders, and representatives from the Qasr Al-Majaz commune, acknowledging their invaluable role in ensuring the success of this inspiring national initiative.
The National Caravan for Mass Sport will culminate with a final stop in Mohammedia and the local prison of Arjat 2 on August 5th and 6th, offering sports, educational, and recreational activities for young inmates.
