Moroccan Crown Prince Welcomes Jerusalemite Children to Tetouan
A Royal Welcome: Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Hosts Children from Jerusalem in Tetouan
Tetouan, Morocco – In a heartwarming display of solidarity and cultural exchange, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan welcomed a group of children from Jerusalem to the Royal Palace in Tetouan. This gesture, made at the behest of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, underscores Morocco’s enduring commitment to the Holy City and its inhabitants.
The children, aged 11 to 14, are participants in the 15th edition of the summer camp organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency. This initiative, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, aims to foster connections and provide enriching experiences for young Jerusalemites.
This year’s camp, aptly named “Yaqub al-Mansur al-Muwahhid,” offers a diverse program of educational excursions, engaging competitions, and exciting recreational activities. The children will also have the opportunity to connect with Moroccan children during cultural visits, fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendship.
The Crown Prince’s reception of the children was filled with warmth and goodwill. The young guests presented His Royal Highness with a commemorative gift, symbolizing the enduring bond between Morocco and Jerusalem. A reception, hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and presided over by the Crown Prince, followed, further emphasizing the importance of this cultural exchange.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s summer camp program, launched in 2008, has benefited over 750 children from various neighborhoods across Jerusalem. These young ambassadors, accompanied by their chaperones, have explored different regions of Morocco, witnessing firsthand the strong ties of solidarity between the Moroccan and Palestinian people.
This commitment to the well-being of Jerusalem’s youth extends beyond Moroccan borders. In a parallel initiative, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency launched its “Summer Schools” program in Jerusalem earlier this month. This program benefits 4,000 children across 17 schools and clubs in various neighborhoods and villages within the Jerusalem Governorate, highlighting the agency’s dedication to providing educational opportunities for all.
The Crown Prince’s reception of the children from Jerusalem serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural exchange and human connection. It is a testament to Morocco’s unwavering support for the Holy City and its people, fostering hope and understanding for future generations.
