Moroccan PAM Party Official Found Dead in Apparent Suicide
A cloud of grief has settled over the Moroccan political scene following the tragic death of a local official from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM). The man, who served as an elected council member in the town of قلعة السراغنة, was found deceased near the Ouzoud Waterfalls in the Azilal province.
Local authorities discovered the body of the 39-year-old man on Friday evening. He was found hanged from a tree near the popular tourist destination. While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings suggest the official died by suicide.
The man, who also held a management position in a private company, was a vocal opposition figure within the قلعة السراغنة council. His unexpected death has sent shockwaves through the community and the PAM party.
The Royal Gendarmerie has launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. His body has been transported to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
