Morocco’s digital landscape is evolving, showing promising growth in its capacity to harness the power of technology. According to the 2024 Network Readiness Index (NRI) published by the Portulans Institute in partnership with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Morocco has climbed one spot to 76th place globally out of 133 countries, achieving a score of 45.93. Regional Leadership: Morocco holds the top spot in North Africa and ranks ninth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This highlights the country’s progress in a dynamic and rapidly developing digital landscape.
Technology (64th globally): While Morocco shows promise in technology adoption, there’s room for improvement. The country ranked 72nd in Access, indicating potential challenges in ensuring widespread internet availability and affordability. However, a 51st-place ranking in Content suggests a vibrant online content ecosystem. Furthermore, the 58th position in Future Technologies signals a focus on emerging technologies, which is crucial for long-term digital competitiveness.
