The discussions highlighted the historically strong relationship between Morocco and Palestine, a bond further strengthened by the unwavering support of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for the Palestinian cause. Bensaid reiterated Morocco’s steadfast commitment to a two-state solution, echoing the King’s vision for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
This commitment to the Palestinian people was recently emphasized in King Mohammed VI’s 2024 Throne Day speech, where he dedicated a significant portion to addressing the concerning developments in Gaza. This act further demonstrates the King’s personal attention to the Palestinian struggle and his dedication to finding a peaceful resolution.
Minister Hamdan expressed his sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people for their unwavering support. He praised the King’s efforts in championing the Palestinian cause, highlighting the tangible impact of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee. The agency, operating under the King’s leadership, implements vital projects in Jerusalem, providing much-needed economic and social support to its Palestinian residents.
Beyond political solidarity, the meeting also focused on strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation. Both ministers explored avenues for exchanging expertise, experiences, and talent, aiming to bridge the cultural gap between the Moroccan and Palestinian people.
A key point of discussion was the need to update the existing executive program for cultural cooperation between Morocco and Palestine. Technical teams from both countries will collaborate to revitalize this program, focusing on initiatives such as the digitization of books and manuscripts, with Morocco offering its expertise to support Palestinian efforts.
Bensaid also briefed his Palestinian counterpart on Morocco’s strides in developing its cultural and creative industries. He emphasized their role in stimulating economic growth and generating employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to bolster cooperation and coordination within regional and international institutions. This commitment aims to serve the shared interests of Morocco and Palestine, further solidifying their already strong cultural ties.
