Morocco has long striven to improve educational outcomes for all its children, particularly those in rural areas. One strategy, the establishment of “collective schools,” aimed to bring quality education closer to home for rural students. However, recent reports reveal a stark reality: a significant gap persists between the aspirations of these schools and the reality on the ground.
The High Council for Education, Training, and Scientific Research (CSEFRS), in its 2023 annual report, highlighted the limited impact of collective schools.
