Morocco Invests in Gaza’s Future with Cloud-Based Education Platform for Al-Azhar University
In a gesture of solidarity and support for Palestinian education, the Kingdom of Morocco, under the guidance of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has funded a cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and learning management system for Al-Azhar University in Gaza. This initiative, facilitated by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency in Cairo, aims to bolster the Palestinian education system and provide much-needed stability in the face of ongoing challenges.
The new system was officially handed over to Al-Azhar University officials in Cairo, including the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees, the University President, and representatives of faculty and students currently in Egypt. This event underscores the commitment of both Morocco and Al-Azhar University to ensuring educational continuity and accessibility for Palestinian students.
This investment is particularly crucial given the current situation in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has had a devastating impact on the education sector, leaving it in a state of paralysis. The new cloud-based platform offers a beacon of hope, providing a resilient and innovative solution to bridge the educational gap and empower students to continue their studies.
Moroccan experts, alongside international partners, conducted comprehensive training workshops for Al-Azhar University’s software and network engineers. These workshops, held both in person in Cairo and remotely via video conferencing for engineers in Gaza, focused on data migration, security protocols, and the utilization of the new platform’s advanced features.
