Get ready for a taste of summer and a sprinkle of surprise, as Morocco’s weather forecast for Monday predicts a blend of warm temperatures and winds/” title=”Morocco Weather Forecast: Scattered Showers and Strong Winds Expected”>scattered showers across various regions.
The Directorate General of Meteorology forecasts relatively high temperatures in the eastern part of the country. This heatwave will also be felt in the plains bordering the Atlas Mountains, the southern Rif region, the southeastern regions, and the southernmost tip of the country.
However, the heat won’t be the only story. The High and Middle Atlas Mountains, along with their southeastern slopes, and the eastern High Plateaus, can expect scattered thunderstorms. These mountainous regions are prone to sudden weather changes, and these thunderstorms are a reminder of the dynamic climate of the area.
Meanwhile, a touch of moisture will grace the coastal areas between Sidi Ifni and Tarfaya, with a chance of very light, localized rainfall. This coastal drizzle is a common occurrence, especially during this time of year.
Early risers along the Mediterranean coast and the Atlas plains might encounter some local fog patches. These fog formations are typical in these regions, often dissipating as the day progresses.
Dust scattered locally is also on the horizon for the eastern, southeastern, and southern regions, as well as the Atlas Mountains. This dust is a result of dry winds and can impact air quality, so it’s something to be mindful of.
Adding to the mix, moderately strong wind gusts are expected in the eastern region, the High and Middle Atlas Mountains, the southeast, and the central and southern coasts. These winds, while refreshing, can also kick up dust and impact outdoor activities.
Temperature-wise, expect a comfortable range of 23-28 degrees Celsius (73-82 degrees Fahrenheit) in the northern part of the eastern region, the far southeast, and the southernmost parts of the country. The High and Middle Atlas Mountains will experience cooler temperatures, ranging from 12-18 degrees Celsius (54-64 degrees Fahrenheit). The rest of Morocco will see temperatures between 16-23 degrees Celsius (61-73 degrees Fahrenheit).
Monday’s forecast promises a dynamic weather day in Morocco. Whether you’re planning a mountain hike or a coastal stroll, be sure to check the local forecast and prepare for a mix of sunshine, showers, and breezes.
