Morocco Weather Forecast: Heatwave Continues in South, East, and Tadla Plains
Morocco Braces for Mixed Bag of Weather: Heatwave in Some Regions, Rain and Fog in Others
Morocco’s diverse geography means experiencing a range of weather conditions simultaneously is not uncommon. This Tuesday is no different, with the Directorate General of Meteorology forecasting a mixed bag of sun, rain, and fog across the country.
The southeastern regions, including the southern provinces and the Tadla plains, can expect the mercury to rise, continuing the trend of relatively hot weather. Southern regions of the Rif mountains will also experience warmer temperatures.
Meanwhile, those in the southern Sahara region should prepare for the possibility of scattered thunderstorms and rainfall starting in the evening. This shift in weather patterns is not unusual for the region, as the late summer months often bring sporadic showers.
Along the Atlantic coast, a different scene will unfold. The western Mediterranean coast, along with the northern and central coastal areas, will see low-hanging, dense clouds rolling in. These clouds are expected to bring light, localized rainfall, offering a welcome respite from the heat.
As is typical for this time of year, fog will develop in the morning and evening hours along the Mediterranean coast, the northern and central plains, and the southern coasts. The Atlas Mountains and the southern Sahara region may experience strong wind gusts.
Temperature-wise, expect a noticeable contrast across the country:
Southeastern regions and southern provinces: Lows of 22-28 degrees Celsius (72-82 degrees Fahrenheit).
High Atlas and Middle Atlas Mountains: Cooler temperatures with lows of 11-17 degrees Celsius (52-63 degrees Fahrenheit).
Remaining regions: Moderate temperatures with lows of 16-22 degrees Celsius (61-72 degrees Fahrenheit).
Daytime temperatures are expected to be lower across the board.
Sea conditions will also vary:
Mediterranean coast and Strait of Gibraltar: Calm to slightly choppy.
Cape Mazagon to Cape Ghir: Rough seas.
Remaining coastal areas: Slightly choppy to rough.
Whether you’re planning a beach day, a mountain hike, or simply navigating city life, be sure to check the local forecast and dress accordingly. Stay hydrated, especially in warmer areas, and enjoy the diverse beauty of Morocco’s ever-changing weather.
