Morocco Braces for a Day of Dramatic ⁢Weather

Get ready for a wild ride, Morocco! The country’s General Directorate of​ Meteorology is forecasting a dramatic ‌shift in weather patterns, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds expected across several regions.

Monday is set to⁤ be⁣ a day​ of contrasts, ⁢with some areas experiencing the brunt of ‍Mother Nature’s ⁢fury while others enjoy a calmer day. The eastern Rif, Middle Atlas, northern High Atlas, ⁤eastern High Plateaus, and the southernmost tip of the country are all on⁢ high alert for thunderstorms, hail, ⁤and powerful gusts of wind.

Meanwhile, the Mediterranean coast and northwestern regions can expect ⁤scattered showers, some potentially turning thundery. The central Atlantic coast ‌might ‍see some⁤ light, localized ‍drizzle ⁤in the‌ morning, accompanied by ⁢low-hanging,⁢ dense clouds.

Fog⁢ patches⁣ are likely to develop over the ⁤northern and⁤ central plains, while strong winds are anticipated in the west, southeast, and southern parts of the country, potentially leading⁤ to dust storms.

Temperature-wise, expect a noticeable dip throughout the day. Coastal areas like​ Safi, along with the western‌ regions, Loukkos,⁣ Phosphates Plateau, ‌and ⁢the southeast,​ will​ see⁣ lows between 19-24 degrees Celsius (66-75 degrees Fahrenheit). The mountainous regions of⁢ the Atlas, Rif, and eastern High Plateaus will be significantly cooler, with lows ranging​ from 11-16⁣ degrees Celsius (52-61 degrees Fahrenheit). The⁣ rest of Morocco⁤ can expect a moderate range of 16-22 degrees Celsius (61-72 degrees Fahrenheit).

As for the sea, the Mediterranean facade will experience calm to slightly⁢ choppy⁤ conditions, while the Strait of Gibraltar and​ the Atlantic coast will be rougher, with choppy⁣ to rough seas expected.
