Morocco Braces for a Mixed Bag of Weather: Heat, Rain, and Wind on the Horizon
Get ready for a diverse weather day in Morocco! The country’s meteorological agency predicts a mix of heat, rain, and wind across various regions on Tuesday.
The day will begin with low-lying clouds and fog blanketing the northern and central Atlantic plains, the phosphate and Oum Er-Rbia plateaus, and the Saiss region. As the day progresses, expect scattered showers and even thunderstorms in the southernmost parts of the country. The southeast, however, will experience partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies.
While the southern regions brace for relatively hot temperatures, a scattering of dust is also anticipated. Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds are expected to sweep across the central and southern coastlines.
Here’s a closer look at the temperature variations:
Overnight lows: Expect temperatures between 24 and 31 degrees Celsius in the southern Saharan regions. The southeast, northern Saharan regions, and both northern and southern coasts, including the Mediterranean facade, will experience milder temperatures ranging from 19 to 24 degrees. The rest of the country can anticipate cooler temperatures between 14 and 19 degrees.
Daytime highs: The southern part of the eastern region and the southeast will see a rise in temperatures. The rest of the country will experience a slight dip in temperature compared to the previous day.
And what about the sea?
The Mediterranean facade and the Strait of Gibraltar will experience calm to slightly choppy waters. North of Cape Hadid, expect slightly choppy to rough seas in the afternoon, while the remaining coastal areas will see slightly choppy to rough seas throughout the day.
