Morocco is set for a diverse range of weather conditions on Friday, with the Directorate General of Meteorology forecasting scattered showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds in various regions.
The northern regions of Tangier, Loukkos, and West Rif can expect scattered showers, while light rain or drizzle is anticipated in the Gharb, Saïss, Middle Atlas, Chaouia, Doukkala, and coastal areas between Tiznit and Laayoune.
Meanwhile, the High Atlas Mountains and the extreme south of the country might experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. The southernmost parts of Morocco are also expected to be slightly warmer than other areas.
Residents and travelers in southern Morocco should be prepared for local sandstorms and strong winds, particularly in coastal areas and along the Mediterranean coast.
Temperature Swings Across Morocco
Temperatures will vary significantly across the country. The southern regions will experience the warmest temperatures, with lows ranging from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius (72 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit). In contrast, the Atlas and Rif Mountains will see cooler temperatures, with lows between 9 and 15 degrees Celsius (48 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit). The rest of Morocco can expect moderate temperatures, with lows ranging from 14 to 21 degrees Celsius (57 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit). Daytime temperatures are expected to be slightly lower than usual throughout the country.
Coastal Waters
The Mediterranean coast will experience calm to slightly choppy waters, while the Strait of Gibraltar will see slightly choppy conditions. The Atlantic coast will experience slightly choppy to rough seas.
