Morocco Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms Expected Across Several Regions Today

Brace Yourselves, Morocco: Thunderstorms Expected Across the Country
Get ready for a dynamic weather day in Morocco! The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts scattered thunderstorms across various regions this Sunday.
The Atlas Mountains, southeastern parts of the country, and the eastern High Plateaus are expected to experience the brunt of these storms. So, if you’re planning a hike or any outdoor activities in these areas, be sure to pack accordingly and stay weather-aware.
Meanwhile, the northern plains and western countryside will wake up to partly to mostly cloudy skies, with a chance of localized showers. It’s the perfect kind of weather to curl up with a good book and a cup of mint tea, wouldn’t you say?
But hold on, the excitement isn’t over yet! The eastern regions and southern coasts can expect some gusty winds, so hold onto your hats (and your beach umbrellas!).
Now, let’s talk temperatures. The Atlas Mountains and High Plateaus will experience the coolest temperatures, ranging from a brisk 54°F to a comfortable 64°F (12°C – 18°C). The Tadla plains and eastern Sahara regions will be pleasantly warm, with temperatures hovering between 72°F and 81°F (22°C – 27°F). The rest of Morocco can expect a mild range of 61°F to 72°F (16°C – 22°C).
As the day progresses, expect temperatures to dip slightly in the north and central regions, while the rest of the country enjoys a bit of a warm-up.
And a word about our beautiful coastline. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy in the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bou Regreg estuary. Expect slightly choppy waters north of Cape Ghir, while the remaining coastal areas might experience slightly choppy to rough seas.
Remember, this is just a general forecast, and weather conditions can change rapidly. Stay tuned to local weather updates and enjoy your Sunday!
