Morocco Weather Forecast: What to Expect This Sunday
Morocco Braces for a Mixed Bag of Weather as Temperatures Rise
Get ready for a diverse weather day in Morocco! While some regions bask in the warmth, others might experience a sprinkle of rain. Here’s a closer look at what Sunday’s forecast holds:
The Moroccan Directorate General of Meteorology predicts a relatively hot day for the inland plains of the north and center, as well as the southeastern and southern regions.
However, don’t pack away those umbrellas just yet! The eastern High Atlas Mountains, the Middle Atlas, the northern High Atlas, and the southeastern slopes can expect scattered showers accompanied by thunder. Meanwhile, the Mediterranean coast and the northern Rif region might see some very light rain.
If you’re in the central and northeastern Atlantic plains, be prepared for some local fog patches during the night and morning. Tangier, known for its breezy conditions, might experience particularly strong gusts of wind.
Temperature-wise, expect a comfortable range across the country. The southernmost parts of Morocco will see lows between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius (72-84 degrees Fahrenheit). The Atlas and Rif regions will be cooler, with lows between 11 and 17 degrees Celsius (52-63 degrees Fahrenheit). The rest of the country will fall somewhere in between, with lows ranging from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius (61-72 degrees Fahrenheit).
As the day progresses, the northern and central regions will experience a noticeable rise in temperature.
And what about the sea? The Mediterranean coast and the Strait of Gibraltar can expect rough seas, while the waters between Jorf Lasfar and Tarfaya will be choppy. The rest of the coastline will see relatively calm to slightly rough seas.
