Nizar Baraka Attends Yasser Arafat Foundation Board of Trustees Meeting
A Legacy of Solidarity: Moroccan Political Leaders Reaffirm Unwavering Support for Palestine at Yasser Arafat Foundation Meeting
Rabat, Morocco – In a powerful display of solidarity with the Palestinian people, Nizar Baraka, Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party and President of the Allal Al Fassi Foundation, participated in the 15th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Yasser Arafat Foundation on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. The meeting, held virtually, provided a platform for reaffirming the deep-rooted commitment of Morocco to the Palestinian cause.
Speaking on behalf of the Istiqlal Party, as well as for Driss Lachgar, First Secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), and Mohammed Nabil Benabdallah, Secretary General of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS), Baraka expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this significant event. He commended the Yasser Arafat Foundation for its diligent efforts in preserving the legacy of the iconic Palestinian leader and promoting the historical struggle of the Palestinian people.
Baraka emphasized the profound respect and admiration held by the Moroccan people for Yasser Arafat, a figure who continues to inspire generations with his unwavering dedication to the Palestinian cause. This sentiment, he noted, is deeply ingrained within the principles of the Istiqlal, USFP, and PPS parties, reflecting a shared history of advocating for Palestinian rights.
Highlighting Morocco’s unwavering commitment to Palestine, Baraka praised the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in championing the Palestinian cause on the international stage. He cited the King’s recent speech commemorating the 25th anniversary of his accession to the throne, where His Majesty stressed that Morocco’s internal progress does not overshadow the plight of the Palestinian people.
