Tangier Hosts 16th Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum
Tangier to Host 16th MEDAWOMEN Forum, Spotlighting Women in Tech
Tangier, Morocco, is gearing up to host the highly anticipated 16th edition of the Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum (MEDAWOMEN) on October 3rd and 4th. This year’s theme, “Women at the Heart of Technology,” promises to be a powerful testament to the growing influence and impact of women in the tech industry.
Organized in collaboration with key stakeholders like the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and the regional branch of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Morocco, the forum will bring together a diverse group of women entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders from across the Mediterranean region.
The event aims to:
Celebrate the achievements of women in technology. From startups to established corporations, women are making significant contributions to the tech landscape. MEDAWOMEN provides a platform to showcase their successes and inspire future generations.
Address the challenges faced by women in the industry. Despite progress, women in tech still face barriers such as gender bias, lack of access to funding, and limited networking opportunities. The forum will facilitate discussions and workshops to address these challenges head-on.
* Empower women to leverage technology for economic growth. Technology has the power to level the playing field and create new opportunities for women. MEDAWOMEN will equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to harness the potential of technology for their businesses and communities.
The forum’s focus on technology is particularly relevant in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. According to a recent report by the International Telecommunication Union, the global tech industry is facing a significant gender gap, with women remaining significantly underrepresented. Events like MEDAWOMEN are crucial in bridging this gap and fostering a more inclusive and equitable tech ecosystem.
By bringing together key players from the government, private sector, and civil society, MEDAWOMEN aims to create a roadmap for empowering women in technology and driving economic growth across the Mediterranean region. The forum promises to be a dynamic and impactful event, sparking conversations, forging connections, and inspiring action.
