Morocco Census 2024: Compensation Dates and Worker Benefits Announced
Morocco Prioritizes Enumerator Well-being in Upcoming National Census
Rabat, Morocco – As Morocco gears up for its national census, scheduled for September 1st to 30th, 2024, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) is taking significant steps to ensure the well-being and safety of all participants. Recognizing the crucial role enumerators play in gathering accurate data, the HCP has outlined a series of measures to support them throughout the process.
One of the key initiatives is the timely disbursement of compensation. Enumerators will receive their payments via bank transfer, ensuring efficiency and transparency. This applies to both those with traditional bank accounts and those utilizing mobile money services like Bريد كاش, كاش بلوس, and others. The HCP has committed to a two-phased payment system. First, enumerators will receive compensation for their initial training, which takes place from August 15th to 27th, within 48 hours of its completion. Second, payments for the actual data collection phase, running from September 1st to 30th, will be processed within 48 hours of the enumerator submitting their collected data.
Beyond financial compensation, the HCP is prioritizing the safety and security of its enumerators. A comprehensive insurance plan will be in effect from August 15th to September 30th, 2024, covering medical expenses, hospitalization costs, and providing compensation for permanent disability or death. This initiative underscores the HCP’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce.
To further support enumerators, a dedicated 24/7 call center will be operational throughout the census period. This center will serve as a direct line for reporting any incidents or emergencies, ensuring swift assistance and support.
Recognizing the logistical challenges of reaching households across diverse terrains, the HCP, in collaboration with local authorities, will provide transportation for enumerators, particularly in rural areas and city outskirts. This will involve utilizing government vehicles and, where necessary, contracting private transportation services.
The HCP acknowledges the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Interior, National Security, and the Royal Gendarmerie in ensuring the safety of all participants and the protection of electronic devices used for data collection. This nationwide effort highlights the importance placed on the census and its role in informing national development strategies.
By prioritizing the well-being, safety, and security of its enumerators, the HCP is setting a positive precedent for future national data collection initiatives. This commitment to a supportive and secure working environment is crucial for gathering accurate and reliable data, ultimately contributing to a more informed and prosperous Morocco.
