Human Rights Coalition Files Defamation Lawsuit in Morocco
A coalition of six human rights organizations has filed a defamation lawsuit against an individual in El Fkih Ben Salah, Morocco, alleging slander and insults directed at the local prosecutor.
The coalition, comprised of groups such as the International Sahrawi Bloc for National Unity and the Moroccan Organization for Combating Human Trafficking, lodged the complaint after what they describe as a sustained campaign of false and damaging statements against the prosecutor. They argue these actions undermine the integrity of the judicial system and create a chilling effect on the pursuit of justice.
