Morocco Rainfall Report: Latest 24-Hour Precipitation Data
Recent Rainfall Brings Relief to Parts of Morocco
Rabat, Morocco – The Moroccan Directorate General of Meteorology (DMG) reported scattered rainfall across several regions over the past 24 hours, offering some respite from the recent dry spell.
The southeastern town of Bouarfa experienced the highest amount of precipitation, recording a significant 24 millimeters of rain. This region, bordering Algeria, often experiences a more arid climate, making this rainfall particularly noteworthy.
Further north, the provinces of Warzazat and Errachidia received 6 millimeters and 3 millimeters of rain respectively. While modest, these showers are a welcome sign for local agriculture, particularly date palm cultivation which is vital to the region’s economy.
Meanwhile, coastal cities like Taroudant, Laayoune, Zagora, and Agadir received less than a millimeter of rain. These areas typically experience a milder, Mediterranean climate with most rainfall occurring during the winter months.
This recent rainfall, while localized, serves as a reminder of the variability of Morocco’s climate. The DMG continues to monitor weather patterns and provide timely updates to support agricultural planning and water resource management.
