Morocco Weather Forecast: 4 Weather Phenomena in One Day This Saturday
Morocco Braces for a Day of Dramatic Weather
Get ready for a day of dynamic weather across Morocco! The country’s meteorological agency, Direction Générale de la Météorologie (DMN), forecasts a Saturday full of diverse conditions, with temperatures soaring high in some regions and the potential for thunderstorms in others.
The interior regions, including Tadla, Rehamna, Saiss, Gharb, Doukkala, and the southeast, are expected to experience a significant heatwave. This intense heat will also extend to the heart of Morocco’s Saharan provinces.
Meanwhile, those along the Atlantic coast and the western Mediterranean coast can expect a different story. The DMN predicts low-lying clouds, potentially bringing fog in some areas, during the morning and night. The Atlas Mountains and their eastern slopes might see some showers and even thunderstorms as cumulus clouds gather.
The rest of the country can anticipate mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. However, dust carried by moderately strong winds might affect the Tangier region and southern parts of Morocco.
Temperatures will vary significantly across the country. Expect lows between 24-30 degrees Celsius (75-86 degrees Fahrenheit) in the west, Saiss, Souss, plains west of the Atlas Mountains, and the extreme south and southeast. The Rif, eastern regions, and the High and Middle Atlas Mountains will experience cooler temperatures, ranging from 10-16 degrees Celsius (50-61 degrees Fahrenheit). The rest of Morocco will see lows between 17-23 degrees Celsius (63-73 degrees Fahrenheit).
Sea conditions will be generally calm in the Mediterranean. However, the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic coast will experience rougher seas, ranging from slightly choppy to choppy.
