Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Expected Across Regions
Morocco Braces for a Mixed Bag of Weather: Clouds, Showers, and Strong Winds
Get ready for a dynamic weather day in Morocco! The country’s meteorological agency predicts a mix of clouds, showers, and strong winds across various regions.
Early birds and night owls along the Atlantic coast and northeastern parts of the southern provinces can expect a rather cloudy start and end to their day. These low-lying clouds will be accompanied by patches of fog, creating a mystical atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the majestic Atlas Mountains – both High and Middle – along with their southeastern slopes, are in for a chance of thunderstorms and scattered showers. This rain is expected to extend to the Saiss plains, the Rif Mountains, the phosphate plateaus, and the southern regions of Eastern Morocco.
Travelers and residents of Tangier should be prepared for strong gusts of wind throughout the day.
Temperature-wise, it’s a tale of two extremes. The higher elevations of the Atlas and Rif Mountains, along with the eastern high plateaus, will experience chilly overnight lows between 8-13°C (46-55°F). In contrast, the rest of the country will enjoy milder temperatures ranging from 18-24°C (64-75°F).
As the day progresses, expect a slight dip in temperatures in central Morocco. Other regions will see a slight increase or remain relatively stable.
Seafarers, take note! The Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, along with the Atlantic coast, are forecast to be choppy with rough waters.
