PAM Inaugurates First Summer University Amidst Absence of Abu El Ghali
A New Era of Engagement: PAM Launches First Summer University Amidst Leadership Shifts
Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) inaugurated its first-ever Summer University on Friday, September 20th, under the theme “A Renewed Contract for Dignity and Hope.” This event signals a significant step for the party as it navigates a period of internal transition and gears up for future political engagement.
The launch saw a notable absence: Salah Eddine Abou El Ghali, one of the three members of PAM’s collective leadership. However, the event proceeded with a strong presence from the remaining leadership duo, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, Coordinator of the collective leadership, and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, member of the collective leadership. They were joined by a significant number of PAM’s political leaders.
The opening session, led by Mansouri, Bensaid, and Hicham Ayouch, a member of the party’s political bureau, focused on the theme “Political Action in Morocco: Challenges and Prospects.” This theme highlights the party’s commitment to engaging in critical dialogue about the future of Moroccan politics.
The absence of Abou El Ghali comes at a time when PAM, like many political parties globally, is grappling with internal dynamics and evolving political landscapes. The concept of collective leadership, while promoting shared responsibility, often faces challenges in maintaining unity and direction, particularly in the absence of key figures.
This summer university initiative reflects a growing trend among political parties worldwide to engage in more interactive and educational activities. Such events provide platforms for members to connect, discuss ideas, and strategize for the future. For PAM, this is particularly crucial as it seeks to solidify its identity and broaden its appeal in a competitive political arena.
The success of this first Summer University will likely be measured not only by the discussions held but also by PAM’s ability to translate the insights gained into concrete actions and policies. The party’s commitment to ”dignity and hope” will be tested against the backdrop of Morocco’s socio-economic challenges and the evolving expectations of its citizenry.
